Default Dunlops on my new LX570

Want Michelins but my local dealers are telling me that Michelin does not make 285/50R20. I find on the internet they do. I am not a Dulop fan and have had bad luck with them in the past.

Recomendations

In that size, there aren't a ton of options (looking on Tire Racks site)... Personally, I like the Yokohama Spec-X's out of their options...

However, the Latitude Tour HP from Michelin in that size is an ~awesome~ tire, If the dealer is willing to swap out tires for you, I would demand on the Michelin - there is no better highway tire for that thing... Maybe print out Michelin's site showing the tire...

Should me dealer be able to special order these?

You and the third person who told me the Latitude Tour HP would be an excellent choice. I would think if I found a local Michelin dealer he should be able to get these.

Yup...

When the LX570 first came with the 20" tires (maybe 2 years ago?), I had a customer that didn't like the OE tires... At the time, the Latitude Tour HP had just been released in a few sizes, but didn't include the 20" size... Michelin did have a product code for it though, so I backordered them and three months later, installed them on his vehicle...

He was extremely happy with them...

I have emailed my local dealer to ask him to contact me about ordering 4 of the tires. I hope it does not take three months!

Well after the email I get a response from Michelin that the four Latitude Tour HP 285/50R20 tires would be $1536 installed and shipped to my local Michelin dealer. Near $400 per tire! Must be full list.

The kicker is I get another email from someone else in the Michelin company and they say that the Latitude Tour HP 285/50R20 is for export only and not supported in the USA!

So we are back to square one and looking at other brands.

I am able to swallow the price but Michelin will not ship these tires to my dealer. He said untill they are supported in the USA they can not ship them to a USA dealer.
