Question Help with tire selection

I recently purchased a 04 gs300 with 22K miles on it. The car has Goodyear Eagles on it and I just installed Michelin Arctic ice and snows for the winter. I average about 50K miles per year and I want to buy tires that will be quite and perform. The guy who installed my tires is pushing the Goodyear Eagles. What would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Default Tires

I've run a tire store for 12 years. Yes, Michelin sport pilots are excellent tires... the A/S model would probably be the best unless you're taking the car to the track. Personally, I'm not made of money... so when I put on my 18" Drifz wheels I matched them up with some 225/45R18 Kumho Ecsta SPT's. They handle beautifully, the ride is smooth... and I paid $89.00 each for them. Of course, you might pay a little more.

Personally, I dont like Goodyear Eagles. Any of them. A few others you might consider would be Hankook Ventus', Falken ZE-912's, or BFG G-Force.

Also when buying tires from the Tire Rack, keep in mind you're still going to have to have someone install them... I HIGHLY recommend checking with a reputable local tire store first and see if you're really going to save any money after the shipping and installation.

If your looking for a summer only tire the F1 GSD-3 are excellent. Spent a good amount of time on those at the Bondurant school in AZ and also have tested them on our track extensively and I feel they are excellent.
