IS250 Awd tire question
I have an IS250 AWD, Its rides okay but I want a bit smoother ride. A friend of mine told me it rides the way it does because the profile is 45 and if I was to change the profile to lets say 50, 55, or 60, the car would feel a whole lot better, in terms of how it feels on the road. He has a camry and to me, his car rides smoother and takes bumps better than mine, his profile is 55, yes I know its 2 different cars...
I am also thinking of changing my rims, so I have a question, I'm a newbie to this so feedback would be great. Instead of my 225/45/17, I would like to install 235/50/18...I want to know if that can fit my IS250 AWD without rubbing and would it give me a better ride on the road as well as going through bumps or that has to do with the kind of tires I have. I have the tires that the car came with..
Feedback greatly appreciated..

too big.... wayyyy tooo big....
you need to first, pick a better tire, Michelin Exalto, Primacy, or Bridgestone Turanza Serenity would be my choices... you are talking a 2.25" difference in diameter - way too much to fit properly, and it would also throw off your speedo by almost 10%... 3% difference in height is the most recommended...
I am pretty sure it will work, but a 245/45-17 would be an easy tire size to come by and also give you an extra 3/4" of sidewall, and be right at the 3% max diameter difference...
