They are called Blizzaks and I purchased them last winter for my IS350. They are amazing in both snow and ice. I run 225/45/18s all around.

blizzacks are good. i run them on my 350 in the winter. however, 1500 seems very steep to me.

An excellent winter tire which, thankfully, I don't need anymore.

Check with CL sponsor Tire Rack. They sell them for well under a grand.

Go to Tirerack.com, or at least check to see how much they go for and see if the guy will match the price. IMO $1500 is way too much for those tires.

BTW, if it were me, I'd get a set of 17" tires and wheels dedicated for winters. Makes changing them a breeze, will cost less than a grand with the rims if you do a little shopping, and 17" work better in snow.

For those who doubt it, either do some research or just ask Tire Rack.

Just installed Blizzaks WS-60s and was blown away by how quiet and smooth they made the ride. They cost me $578 for a set of four. Since this is my first winter on the ground with them, I don't have any anectodal evidence as to how they handle in snow and ice.
