Default Siping or not?

I recently bought four Toyo Luxury Tourevo from Les Swchab to replace Michelin Energy. I also had siping done on all four tires as recommended by Les Schwab (to get a smoother ride). The car now drives so much smoother than before. Is this due to the siping, the tires, or both? Toyo Tourevo is about 30-50 bucks cheaper than Michelin Energy. Thanks.
