Default Dunlop SP Sport 01A review (negative)

I won't go into a lot of detail unless someone wants, but just as a warning, STAY AWAY from these tires if you don't like howling highway noise. When NEW, these tires were reasonably quiet (considering their sporting pretenses), but now with a very few thousand miles on them they are beginning to sound like a 4X4 with monster mudders. Handling is okay, steering feel is okay, ride comfort is okay (again, in light of the type of tire that they are), but the noise is getting to be way too annoying. I am going to replace them with some type of Michelins (which is what I should have bought in the first place).

BTW, these are 245/45 and 275/40/19 on my LS430. I was trying to acheive a good balance of comfort, quiet, and on-the-road feel with these tires in these sizes on very light weight wheels, and went with the Dunlops as a result of on-line reviews that I found at the time. Everything worked out okay except the NOISE. The car (which also has Tein CS suspension) feels very good on the road, but the noise is just unacceptable. It serves me right though -- I know better than to buy anything other than Michelins.
