Can I fit 225 40 18" tires on RX330 18x7" wheels?
I have a tire dilemma
I bought rx330 18"x7" wheels for my 1997 ES300.
Since they're 7" wide I can't fit 225 40 18" tires....right???
I'm thinking of going 225 45 18" but concerned about rubbing.
215 40 18" is a possibility but cant find much in that size and they’re more expensive.
I would also like a tire with a decent wheel protector.
Any suggestions?

I meant 215 45 18 is a possibility
The only reasonable priced tire in that size is the Kuhmo STP's but they don't have much of a rim protector.

Yes, yes, and..yes! You can fit 225/40/18 on a 7" wide wheel no problem. The SPT is a good tire but if you want something that you can get more miles out with with a rim protector I'd suggest looking into some Bridgestone's Potenza line of tires.

Personaly, I would not push 245 to a 7" wheel, it would really look like a donut. I had 245 to a 8" before and even that did not look very good.
BTW, the RX wheels are heavier than ES wheels right? I thought since they are made for heavier SUV and may be made stronger to take the weight of the SUV...
