I had a 96' Porsche Carerra 4, AWD 18x8 front 18x10 rear OEM. I think as long as your tires diameters are with in +-3% you should be OK.

Problem is, Porsches are engineered with the difference...

GS's come with the same size all around...

rolling diameter MUST be with 6/32"

that, or anything more will tear out the center diff... it is not designed to be run with different diameters front and rear...

also, stability control is picky about stuff like that as well...

I believe CL member Cathifer used staggard rims on her IS250 AWD. Many advised against it, but she had no mechanical or electrical problems to date. I think its been about a year by now. D2autosports I believe were the ones that set the car up.

Just wait for it. It will happen. Its just like when people blow a tire on an all wheel drive vehicle and decide to only replace one. The rule with all wheel drives is that if one tire blows out, the rest must be replaced also if they arent with in the same tread depth range. I'd just keep the same width and get a staggered offset like mr HoeBag and suggested.

yup...

there is some room for differences, but ultimately it will come to how long it will last...

This topic has been discussed ad nauseam many times over so I'll just save my fingers.

Bottom line, if you want to stagger we have done it on various cars for a very long time. If you dont we have also done same width, staggered lips for about as long. You can choose what route your most comfortable with.

The choice is yours, the limiting factor can be 1pc wheels. Alot of these setups are a bit easier with custom wheels. (not that 1pc is impossible, ie, Cathafers car)

Good luck and happy hunting.

Yeah but is it bad for AWD cars in the long run? I think that was the real question.
