How much exactly was it with DHL? Someone wants me to ship two rims with tires on them from TX to MD and UPS wants about $45-50 each.

Aren't UPS and FedEx more reputable for handling wheels/tires during transit?

Hmmmmm..... I may need to discuss this with my 2 buyers. I just sold 2 sets of wheels and DHL may provide some cost savings to them.

I can't speak for lower 48 pricing, but the USPS has great rates and service to Alaska. Priority Mail is always here within 4 days, no damage, no lost items. Fed-Ex is their contracted courier for Priority Mail. Cost is generally half the price of the other Big 3. Mind you, this is for service to Alaska.

I jsut recently sent some 19's without tires.

i let the UPS store pack it up for me as well and it cost me about $45 for each. from florida to new york. i didnt have to do anything except take the wheels to them, so it seemed like a good price.

You should be looking to pay around $50 for the 3 big shippers and maybe a bit less if you choose USPS.

I check with DHL(website) and it cost $31 per wheel from California to New York. I'll check with UPS and USPS.

That is dirt cheap to ship a 50 pound package from coast to coast. UPS/Fedex Ground will cost more. DHL looks to be the best bet.

Use http://www.iship.com/ to compare rates.

iship.com is owned by UPS, and FedEx ground was so much cheaper, winning every comparison, that they stopped posting the FedEx ground prices.

DHL was cheapest for me. I shipped a set of 17's with tires from CA to NC through DHL and it was $35 per wheel/tire. I also shipped a set of 20's with tires through UPS from CA to FL and the cost was about $68 per wheel/tire. I know the 20's are heavier but UPS likes to charge an "irregular package fee" if you don't put them in a box.
