Default Mr Curb got me

I hit a curb and took a small chunk out of my rear passanger rim and put a "scratch" on my tire about 2 inches long. The scratch is on the outer sidewall and goes 1/16, maybe to 1/8 deep at a couple small spots. Do you think this damage is cosmetic or should I try to get a new tire under road hazzard I have? No bubble or anything. Rim not bent, going to cost me $120 for that to get fixed. Sidewall damage concerns me.

2003 GS300 17 Blizzak's with 4k on them...

Thanks.

definitely bring it in and let them look at it. Had a similar issue with my old car and the tire shop swapped it out because it compromised the tire, even though there were no bubbles or anything like that.

Here's what happened to me. I took zero chances. I was only 2 miles from home and right after this happened, I brought the car back home. There were gashes that went 2 times around the tire.

Thanks - I will have it checked out. Mine is nothing like sleeper, but better safe than sorry.

That is good mentality. Just have a tire professional look at it since you don't have pics.
