Default 245/30 or 245/35 on a 2GS?

I noticed I have 245/35-20's on the front (as many people do I can tell by a search) wheels that they came with. Using this calculator [http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp], it shows 245/30 is actually the correct upsize with least variation from my stock 225/55-16's instead of the 245/35's.

So my question is, I realize the 3% is huge but why aren't people using the 245/30's more? I'm wanting to change the front tires soon as well so why shouldn't I just get the /30's this time around for my 20x9 fronts?

Thanks guys..

B/c most people like to go with the so called "Fat" set up to get a better ride quality.
