Default Wheel Spacer Questions

Hi,

I have a few questions about wheel spacers for the second gen GS. I want this for the stock 17" rims. My car is already lowered with L-Tuned springs. After searching, I found that we can use up to 25mm spacer for the rear, and 20mm spacer for the front. Every site that I looked for the spacers, the 25mm ones show up as the DRM kit. That kit means that I will get a spacer with studs built into it, and the spacer bolts onto the stock studs. I don't like this for the fact that I will probably have to cut the stock studs. Not sure about this, but I think our stock studs are longer than 25mm. So I am thinking of just going to 20mm spacers all around, which is the DRS kit. The DRS kit replaces the stock studs with longer ones, and the spacer gets sandwiched between the wheel and the hub.

Now for my questions;

1. Am I correct in understanding the difference between both kits?
2. How hard is it to change out the stock studs for the longer ones?
a. Do I just hammer out the studs on both front and rear while the spindle is still on the car, or does the spindle have to come off?
3. Did anyone experience any problems with these spacers? This is my first time getting spacers, so I don't know of any associated problem first hand.
4. Where is the best place to pick these up? I found them at http://www.optionimports.com/40656014.html for 112.50 per set. Does anyone know of a better place?

Thanks to all in advance.

1. i think your understanding on the kits is on the money except with the 25mm kit, u simply bolt em on to the hub. no removal of nothing [except maybe some rust as in my case] is needed.
3. no problems at all. the difference is obvious the moment you lower your car off the jacks. it looks so much better with the wheels pushed out.
4. i got the H&R 25mm kit off ebay for $102 shipped. so 112.5 sounds about right.

Why would you add spacers to the front wheels? The rears are sunk in so add a set of H&R 25MM spacers to the rear, simply bolt them up and reinstall your wheels, you have an aggressive stance at the drop of the jack.

Thanks guys. So what you are saying is that you didn't have to cut the stock studs due to them being longer than the spacer?

Thanks in advance again.

No cutting no mods at all, just bolt up, torque and enjoy, Option Imports should have H&R as well.

stock, the front wheels come out further than the rears. i think if you do 25mm front and 30mm rear, the fronts will stick out past the rears. adam5xx2 with the slammed blue GS has spacers on front and rear. i believe both sets are less than 20mm or less and his car looks tough as hell.

Yea, it is spacer. Wheel adapter usually change bolt pattern and it works partialy as a spacer. H&R products are superior in quality
