Default 18 X 8 30; 18 X 9 33 - GS400, will these fit and anyone have tire recommendations

I am a tire and wheel noob, did extensive search, LGW's website is down or I would Reference Rominl's guide, but I can't find it. Any info would be appreciated, Tire and Tire size recommends from those that know would be appreciated as well. Thanks They are 18 X 8 w/30 offset and 18 X 9 33 offset. Would they fit, any modifications needed? - tire size and tire brands would be appreciated as well. Thanks to all that know more about this stuff than I do - which means everyones comments would be appreciated.

i am no expert on the GS stuff, but they look like reasonable sizes...

in terms of tire size, just search, there is plenty of info already in this forum

in terms of tire selection, get the best your wallet will handle - BFG, Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone on the high end, Fuzion, Falken, Kumho on the lower end...

Are you lowered at all?

I'm slammed and have 18X8 on the front right now with 225/45/18. No problems.

I think the wheel size is throwing you off. Since most of the application for the GS are 8.5/9 (front) and 9.5/10 (rear). I don't know if you wanted to go aggressive or conservative on your set up, so I will just give you the equivalent sizes and you make up your mind on what you want.

18x8 +30 = 18x8.5 +37
= 18x9 +42

18x9 +33 = 18x9.5 +40
= 18x10 +45

Thank you, this is very helpful. Is 18 X 8 and 18X 9 too narrow, and does anyone know the widest tire that I would be able to fit on the back.
Thanks

I'm looking at 275/35/18 tires for the back and 245/40/18 for the front does anyone think I would have a problem w/ this set-up?

I'll agree. 8" width is the stock width for 17" 2GS wheels. However, the stock wheels have a 50mm offset so it's "sunken-in" more. The 30mm offset and 33mm offset will put the wheel closer to the fender. According to V8_Aristo's calculations... you should be fine. I was at 9" +35 and 10" +37 and it worked.

That size would work. The rears might crown a little bit depending on what tire you decide to go with. What tire are you planning on going with? You cant go wrong with Pirelli. For ride quality, reliability, longevity, and handling I'd suggest the Pirelly PZero Nero.
