Okay so I really want rims that are 5/120 pattern on my IS350(5x114.3), I hear from a friend that it is really dangerous to use adapters.
So my question is, what dangers am I facing?

Also, is there a way to change my bolt pattern without using adapters?

I've heard of people complaining about vibrations from the wheels. Some members on here advised me to just wait for wheels that are made for my car. Although there are some who have used adapters and had zero problems. The other way to make them fit is to re-drill the wheels, but many here would not recommend that either.

i think you should take this into consideration. If the 5 x 120 wheels are a high offset (40+mm) then to adapt them out, you would be running a low offset (0-20mm). This is because most adaptors are at least 25+mm wide. The wheels would be sticking out past your fender, FROG style. I would wait for wheels that are made for your whip.

No offense to those that use them, but I would not touch adapters with a 20ft pole, personally or professionally.

I've been using 25mm H&R spacers on my stock GS 17s with no problems for the past 5 months. they have taken their fair share of abuse also from NYC streets that are littered with potholes.

Don't get discouraged. You'll find another deal. It took me 6 months to find wheels I really liked that would fit. Well, they fit bolt pattern wise. I won't get into the offsets and fender work needed.

The H&R hubcentric spacers are one thing, adapters are a total different ball of wax they have to convert the lug pattern and centerbore, IMO not something you want to mess around with.

Also H&R spacers with OEM wheels are enduring less weight and stress than most other plus wheels of equal construction.
