Need Tire Specs For Putting 19's On 2000 GS300
I'm about to purchase a 2000 GS300
I want to put some 19's on it.
I've decided for a smoother ride.
And to keep from having a rubbing problem.
19's are big enough for the desired look.
I don't know anything about the whole "staggered" look.
Not a real big car guy.
So I'd appreciate somebody giving me the specs on what I need to order to put my 19's on without any extra mod's needed.
I don't know if I need 8.5's or 9's
I don't know anything about
The tire shops say I need the 8.5's though.....
Thank in advance

If you want simple and avoid rubbing, go with 19x8.5 with an offset between 35 and 40. Use 245/35/19 tires.
If you are a little more ambitious and go staggered, use the above specs for the front. Then go with 19x10 with an offset between 42-45. Use 285/30/19 (or 275/30/19 if you cannot find the 285s) tires.
This is a modest spec that will not please the guys who really want to push the limits but it will be pretty nice without rubbing issues. Everything should be just insidethe fenders and the diameter is about OEM so any rubbing you get from this, you would probably have gotten with the OEM wheels.
In addition, read through this as it may help you with more info:

My GS has 19x8.5 +38 offset, all four rims (non-staggered). The car is lowered, with about 1 inch gap. I do not have any fender mod. The rear is not really flushed. But the non-staggered setup allows me to rotate tires.
Because the car is lowered, the rear rims can probably go 19x8.5 +32 without rubbing.
