Personally, I would not go more than 245. Depending on the manufacturer, you might be able to push 255. I would not do it though. 235 would be a nice fit but 245 would be good too.

I like 245/40 because it gives a little bit better ride quality (more rubber) and 1/2" less drop needed. I am used to rubbing issues with 20s and the extra 1" in diameter so 245/40/19 is familiar.
In your case, if you want to stay with the OEM diameter that you had with 245/35/19, I would stay with that. I am assuming this is a new set of wheels that are 19x8 + 42 all around? If this is the case, 235/35 or 245/35 (for a little more rubber) would be fine.
