Default is it possible to raise a wheels offset?

ok heres the situation, i have these pretty sweet rims but they have a crazy low -16 offset, i was wondering if it was safe to machine the rim like 10-15mm to raise the offset a little bit. any input??

I believe a member here, Turbo Teg, did that to his wheels. I'm not sure how much he had shaven off though. How much you'll be able to machine off depends on what kind of disk the wheels are. Example: You can shave more off a high disk wheels because of the greater pad height, but a low disk wheel can't stand to lose that much.

im assuming that it is high disk, because there is a butt load of clearence between the spokes and the caliper. plus its an 11.5" wide rim. but basically just so long as it clearrs the caliper it should be okay. right??

how much should i b expecting to be charged for something like that?

here's the problem with that... when you shave anything off the back, you also have to take into account the seat for the lug nut.... typically 5 mm is ok, but anything more than that, is not going to work...

what you could do,

1) invest $250 for an eastwood fender roller
2) buy daizen camber kit for SC
3) run 265s on those 11.5s
3) roll your fenders to the max
4) install your daizen camber kit, but use it reversely, 2 degrees negative, not positive
5) bring your car to an alignment shop, $100, go max neg. spec on your camber probably around -7
6) your veilside andrews will fit with 11.5 width and -16 offset.

I was thinking the same thing. The wheel studs would protrude too far out.
