Question Wheel offset help needed please

Okay I just went through all 41 pages of the wheel fitment guide thread and I still didn't find out a definitive answer ...

Looking to get a set of 18" rims and have been looking at the Supra fitment of
f:18x8.5 +40 and r:18x9.5 +38. From the fitment guide thread, I know the front will fit; however, I saw two different people with +38 rear offset, one saying the rear fender needed to be rolled, while the other said no modifications. Which is it?

Also, the +40 offset in the front is out of stock for the particular wheel that I want. I was offered a 18x8.5 +30 with 245/40/18 tires and was told it would fit without fender mods by the company I was talking to. I also talked to MVP motorsports and they said the +30 would require mods. I didn't see anyone in the thread running a +30.

So now I'm really confused

Can someone help me out and tell me:

1) Does 18x9.5 +38 in the rear require fenders to be rolled?
2) Will 18x8.5 +30 in the front fit without fender mods?
3) Will these tire sizes work: 245/40/18 front, 275/35/18 rear or should I got for something like 235/40/18, 265/40/18?

The car will be lowered 1-1.5inches on Megan Racing coilovers if that makes a difference.

Thanks

With a 275 wide rear tire, you might need to roll the fender. Right now I got a 9.5 rear with +7offset(235 tire) and I had to roll the fenders for sure. But since your offset is a lot higher I think you should be able to get away without rolling. Go with the 265 tire just to make sure, if you dont want to roll.

1) Like avrfc3s suggested, use a 265 or 255 if you do not want to do any fender mods. Bottom line, that width/offset will fit and you should not worry.

2) 18x8.5 +30 should also be no problem. I had a zero finger gap between tire/fender and I was at 19x8.5 +15 and I had to roll the fender. You should be fine with this setup as well.

3) I for tire sizes, I would go with 245/40/18 fronts and 265/35/18 rears, you can go 275's in the rears, just get the tire shop to roll/cut the fender for clearance.

Post pix!

And Henry, I think there's more cases of 275's rubbing on the 92-00 SC...I think you're thinking about 275's rubbing on SC430's which is totally different..
