Default Chrome Rims In The Winter

When I had my rims put today, I was talking to the owner of the shop and he said that the 24's he has on his F-150 stays on all year round. I was suprised that this guy keeps his chromes through the winter. But I figure with his own shop, high preesure washer, he can do that. He says that keeps it clean as much as he can and that he puts wax on them. the salt and that
brine (sorry if I I mispell) solution scares me.I don't have that time so I'll continue to change my rims and tires with the seasons.

Yeah, I'm know people do it but the Chrome does not stand up very well to the salt or magnesium solution used in many states.

Thats why we should have 2 sets, summer and winter, forget about swaping tires twice a year, thats waste of your money

Yeah, getting a nice set of rims for the summer time and matching high performance summer tires are great. Just add on some steel rims and matching winter tires and you should even better in winter due to higher profile and performance winter tires.

As long as you keep them cleaned off, there should not be any problem. If you leave them dirty for weeks, then you will see some rust. A lot of the southern states have gone to using sand instead of salt, which is not as bad on wheels or cars.
