Default Photos of Calipers painted with duplicolor

Hi I finished painting my calipers this weekend.

Take a look.. I'll update the photos when I get my new wheels this week.

It's a pretty easy mod cost less than $20
Duplicolor Caliper Paint $7 , Brake cleaner $6, plastic, tape and newspaper.

Take a look

You'll have to log in. I posted pics start to finish.

very nice and as a suggestion, try to put some clear coat (duplicolor high temp engine enamal as well) over it for protection. makes it look even better

did you put plastic between the rotor and the pad? i can't tell if you actually slid it between there. also - how did you cover the rectangular area in the middle of the caliper?

Thanks for looking.
I did not need to put plastic between the rotor and pad.
The space is so small. You may be able to slip a peice of paper between the rotor and pad. What I did is sneak a little tape on the rotor and turned the rotor a little bit to cover the rotor. The rotor wouldn't even turn all the way around with a little tape on the rotor b/c the tape is thick and it will catch and begin to peal. Paint really won't get in between where the pad covers the rotor.

On the front rotors I simply taped the center components. Tape will stick right on to it.

The only bit of advice I could give would be to cover the car and everything in the wheel well that you don't want to get paint on. You will get a little overspray otherwise.

High temp clearcoat makes sense too.. But I couldn't not find it at any local autoparts store, so I did not put it on. Maybe an autopaint specialty store?
