Default GS300 New Wheels, Help

I found a set of rims & tires with the correct '01 GS bolt size (5x114)...

Here are the measurements:

Tires: 215/35/18
Wheels: 18x7.5

I was reading most of the threads and it seems that something is not right here.

My original size is 215/60/16... Will 215/35/18 work?

If not, what will be the best tire size for these rims? I'm looking to maintain the softness and ride of the originals as much as possible...though I know an upgrade to 18" rims is a big jump...

Also I heard that on rear wheel drive cars its better to have wider tires in the back. Is that true?

Thanks!

bsasically to me i wouldn't get 7.5" wide rims. that's just way too narrow for the car. i would get at least 8, and put on 235/40/18

and btw, 215/35/18, that's wrong sidewall setup
