Aftermarket rims are hitting the brake calipers
I brought aftermarket rims for my '96' es300. The rims are coming into contact with the front brake calipers. I called the company ..(WheelMax.com) to express my concerns and they informed me that I would need to install spacers to clear the brake calipers. I don't really want to install spacers because they decrease the length of the studs, which may create an unsafe condition. I have been told that the alternative to installing spacers would be to grind down the OEM calipers so that they clear the rims. My question, do aftermarket companys make front brake calipers that clear aftermarket rims? Or is there another alternative to solve this problem?
Thanks for any suggestions

If they are just hitting the calipers you may only need 5 mm spacers. Can you measure to see how much clearance you need? You can also try to shave some of the caliper off, but I wouldnt go that route

Thanks GS300Rich.......Thank you for that info, I will measure the distance to see if I could use the 5mm spacers. What could happen if I did grind the calipers, just for information purposes?
