Default staggered vs normal wheels on sc430?

what do you all think of a staggered wheel/tire setup on the sc430 vs having the same size all around?

You will find that most here that run aftermarket wheels run staggered due to the aggressive offset this car carries and large rear fenders. The style of the body lends itself IMO better with staggered wheels. Sort of flows with the body better. But...that is my opinion. Downfalls of course would be tire rotation is limited (left, right only).

bottom line is if you find some non-staggered setup that will fit the front right at the edge, you are going to have very loose setup for the rear. that's the design of the car. so if you want to get good look, you need staggered

Default is250 staggered wheels on SC430

Just picked up some '06 IS250 18x8 (front) and 18x8.5 (rear) wheels as a summer set on my SC430. Shopping tires (Conti DWS) and considering both staggered and non-staggered widths. Did a fair amount on on-line research and see the pros and cons. Still a bit concerned about vsc and abs issues if I staggering revs/mile with more that 2% or so. Any wisdom....?

Thinking of even buying another wheel set to create two non-staggered sets (one 8 and one 8.5 wide).

Thanks

if your car is not awd, then you shouldn't see any problems on vsc or abs or cel. if you have awd, then you need to make sure front and rear tires overall diameters are very close to each other (if not the same)

AWD needs a squared setup IMO. you have all the extra weight of a front differential, and then, not only are you asking the front tires to brake and corner at the same time on entry, but they have to turn AND put power down on corner exit. Without enough meat on the front wheels the car is just gonna push through the corners and that's a drag to drive.

if RWD, and for purely street driving it's more about looks. most guys slam the RH cuz it looks cool, without any concern for the suspension geometry. little known fact that in some cases, lowering the car actually rasies the roll centers and makes the car handle worse. so if you're going for cosmetics vs. performance, go staggered.

if you want performance, go non-staggered and set the car up accordingly.

Agreed staggered on the SC 430 is the way to go to accent that nice rear. You can see the stock wheels offered are far from flush. Staggered wheels really sets off the look.

Remember staggered also doesn't mean you have to get wheels with lips, you can go with a concave look as well. Below is an example.
