Dumb Question? Tire Alignment
I had new tires put on my GS around 8 months ago. I have probably not driven more then 8K miles since then. I recently noticed my car driving horribly on the highway, pulling crazy on the highway to the right, and seeming to be 'stuck' in the grooves on the road from the trucks.
I checked out my tires the other day by turning the wheel all the way to the side. I was VERY surprised to see that the inside on both of my tires is BALD. When I mean bald, I mean that there is no tread at all. The outside through the middle of the tire seems fine and almost new (as it should for only 8K miles on it) but the inside is way beyond ever even noticing as though there had been tread marks anywhere, just a clean smooth surface.
Not too show that I am a huge idiot, but I was surprised to see the same level of wear on both tires, both on the inside tracks of the tires. I thought that if the alignment was off, it would be on both the left or right sides of both tires, not opposite and only the insides of both. Am I crazy? Also, do I have a leg to stand on with the tire shop in complaining with what happened? My old tires wore very evenly and I never had an alignment problem, it seems very odd that this suddenly happened after they did the work.
