Lowenhart and SC430 w/BBK
Hi
Does anyone know if the Lowenhart LD5 will clear a stoptech 355mm bbk and what kind of offset I should be looking for on a SC430
Thanks

I read what Henry wrote in the wheel fitment guide which is +30 in front and +29 in back. I talked to Lowenhart and they said their fitment would be +38 in front and +44 in back which sounds pretty close to stock to me. They also mentioned it was high disk but possibly not high enough to fit the stoptech caliper. So unless someone has actual experience with fitting this wheel I guess I'll have to find something else.

wait, this is for sc430? and also remember, offsets mean nothing if you don't mention the width. so bt, do you mean 9 in the front and 10 in the back? if so, then 38 and 44 are way too high, they are kidding,,,, you can do much lower and no problem. and with high disk, you have no problem clearing stoptech

It's a sc430 and yeah it was 9 in front and 10 in the back I really want 10.5. It was a pretty strange conversation but then as I kept thinking the offsets they were talking about were so close to stock I didn't know how that bigger wheel would fit in the rear. Then the high disk comment not being high enough got me thinking this might not be a great wheel selection. I can do Zones for a little less so I might go that way. Did you see the back lip on that sc430 with lsr's on the wheel thread I think it's on page 6 it's really big.

well as you know 10.5 is never a problem, i am running it now and even 11 is good
about high disk not "high" enough, here is why. high disk is a term to describe how the spoke curves. for a high disk wheel, the spokes curve out more than normal to clear the calipers right? but it can only come out so much. if it's not enough, what you can do is to lower your offset so you are pushing out the WHOLE wheel to help clearing.
so for example, MAYBE (again, maybe, just as an example), with high disk 9 +50, it's very inset, maybe you won't be able to clear the brakes, even if it's high disk. this is coz' the wheel is just way too inset. but with high disk, 9 +24, you effectively gain that extra 26mm space to clear the calipers
