Default What is the correct offset?

Hi, I am looking at a set of 19" Axis Milano wheels but not sure what the offsets should be. Some says 40mm for 8.5" front and 45mm for 9.5" rear while others say 35mm for front and 45mm for rear. Of course, these are for LS430.

They are about 2" lips front and 3" lips rear.

Could anyone verify please? Thanks.

i think 35 front might be too aggressive. 40 will be safe

btw, 2" lip in the front? umm.... you sure it's high disk and will clear the calipers?

That was why I thought 35mm would help clearing them. They have actually about 1.5" lips for the front.

Thanks. Any REAL experiences?

ic. well, imho you need to look for high disk. offset might help a tiny bit but the disk type is what clears calipers

How do I know if the wheels are high disk? Does it say on the wheels?

Another question is will 285/35/19 cause any rubbing on the back? I know people go with 275/35/19 but wonder if I can pump it up to 285? I know that worked with my MB but not sure about Lexus. Thanks.

i am not sure if you can tell from the wheels that whether it's high disk or not. at lesat i don't know of a way.

can't say on the 285. to be size, maybe you want to stay with 275. and btw, you sure it's 275/35/19 and not 275/30/19?

Yeah, it should be 275/35/19 (it's LS, not GS or SC). LS tires should be same as those of S and CL classes (MB). I switched from 275 to 285 on my MB with my fingers crossed and they seem to work fine without rubbings.

I am still waiting for more inputs before getting tires. Does anyone else know? (or care?)
