Hub Rings: hubcentric
I recently purchased some 19" rims for my GS400. Like mentioned by a few people on CL, I am also experiencing vibration at 55 mph. This was not the case with my stock rims and certainly not after the four wheel alignment. When I say there is vibration, I mean the steering wheel is shaking like crazy. I am trying to find hub rings for my car but I have run into the following trouble:
1. The manufacturer is a joke, rude and no help at all.
2. The tire retailer found rings that fit the hub but not the rim
3. I tried a local wheel retailer and they had nothing that fit.
4. I called the Lexus dealer and they don't know the hub size of a '98 GS400
5. I looked on eBay and found a bunch of hub rings but really don't know which to get
Can someone please help me? I researched everywhere and cannot find the answer I need.
Thanks,
Carle

I see this a lot, don't most vendors supply the proper hub centric rings with the purchase of rims? I have a couple sets for my other cars and I recieved rings with each set. I would hope it would be an automatic accessory on a high line car like this.

Hey man, if thats a wheel that we carry then we can certainly get you the correct hub spacing measurements. If its not then thats tougher, since we dont have access to the information. It really bothers me when retailers do not properly support thier clients, especially when the issue is so simple.
What brand of wheels are those?

With that information (if it is correct) Todd at TMEngineering.com can assist you, we do not sell hubrings, as our wheels come with them ( we dont normally stock extra's) hopefully Todd can help

Contact Todd to see if he can get some at that size. Since you know the rim's center bore, Todd knows the Lexus hub size (60.06 or sometimes listed as 60.1) and can tell you if he has some or can get some.

if you want some today, you can go by a discount tire in town since they usually have extras (polycarbonate) or can order you aluminum ones. I'd recommend Tim or Mark at the store on 71.
I'd assume the outer diameter is 73.1 unless it's a specific application for another vehicle.

Thanks for the welcome; just lookin' around at the moment.
If they said it's a special order size then it may not be the standard 73.1 OD.
Also sounds like you might just need a rebalance.
