SSR GT3 Cracking??? TIre Rack Customer Service ???
I'm switching my summer tire to winter tire yesterday and found out the I had hairline cracked about 4 inches across my SSR GT3 wheel which I purchased from TIRE RACK last year. I called tire rack customer service and they told me there is no WARRANTY on structural of tire.
GARY@TireRack - Is this true? I read some threads in bmw site fanatics regarding this problem and you told them they had good structural warranty. Can you something about this? Since your customer service is not really helping your customers.

Ssr Gt3 Hairline Crack
Picture shows crack started to go almost to outter edge of the wheel. This is truly a manufacturer defect.
DaveGS4 what to think? Any idea what when wrong with this wheel?

Gary from the Tire Rack doesn't read this forum, Brandon does. Tire Rack tries to match its forum reps with owners / enthusiasts with the make of the forum.
Try calling or emailing him Brandon@tirerack.com 877-522-8473 ext. 287 on Monday (doubt he works today) to see what he has to say.
My thoughts... ultimately its the manufacturer (SSR) who will offers the warranty on the product. Tire Rack does offer special hazard warranty but I think it only applies to tires. The problem with doing it for wheels is that its very difficult to tell what kind of abuses, pot holes, curbs, etc that whomever buys it so they can't tell if the problem is due to accident or abuse or its a product problem. Not saying you abused your wheels in any way, but I'd guess for most wheels there has been some impact that caused or contributed to the structural damage.
I've been doing some googling and can't find much information on SSR warranties. Krista and I need to run to meet a couple for brunch, I'll search more when I get back and if I find anything will post it up.

Tire Rack issue replacement wheel
Tire Rack issued RMA to replacement my crack SSR wheel. We have a very good vendor in CLUB.

I had SSR GT1 on my old car TL Type S which my brother drives now and I bought 5 wheels. One as spare.
Guess how many SSR GT1 he has left?
1
4 of them are cracked so I threw them away.
We found this out when we took the wheels to get it repaired. All 4 wheels were cracked beyond repair. They were surprized that it still held together.
Compliments of City of Los Angeles with all the potholes that does not get repaired.
As far as I am concern, SSR's are great wheels. There are not that many wheels out there that can withstand LA potholes.
Had it been any other wheel, it would have been history.
