I need two 17" Lexus Chrome Rims for my 98 GS400 and am having a hard time finding them on the used market...so, I was wondering if anyone has any experiences (good or bad) with purchasing OEM replacement wheels from a 3rd Party Manufacturer??? I just cant see spending what Toyota wants for their new wheels so am looking to buy the same wheel for a 1/3 of the cost. Generally, are they the same quality??? Does anyone have any recommendations on where to purchase?

I once thought that you could get OEM replacement wheels from a 3rd Party Manufacturer, but I've since changed my mind, due to what happened here:

unfortunately, those oem gs 17s are getting very hard to find in good condition. you can buy a beat up pair and have them re-conditioned. I think there are some in classifieds here now.

I wouldn't trust knockoffs.
