Default Offset for GS?

Anyone have a chart showing what offsets will work with different rim widths?

Stats:

98 GS3
TRD rims are 18x8 offset=40.
eibach/bilstein shocks.

The proper size tire is 245/40/18 but I was thinking a little more sidewall will help lessen the chance of me cracking a rim.

Any idea if i'll rub with 245/45/18?

It will not rub the fender in the traditional sense. This size, however, is 1" taller than the OEM wheel spec (just like people running 20s). It may rub the top of the wheel well when the suspension is compressed (dips, deep driveways, ...) and the front vendor if you reverse or turn full lock. How bad this is will also depend on tire manufacturer and lowering.

Default thanks Neo!

You saved me from making my GS look like it's on stilts!

Although I want to fill up the wheel well, I've seen some late model s-class benzes that have huge wheels and they look like mud boggers.
