Default Tire experts!

its time for me to purchase good SUMMER tires, however my budget is limited I am looking for a tire that well can grip the best for the value, has a decent thread rating, and has OK, handling in the wet.

Size well Im putting it on the stock wheel and all I will be doing is just going for a slightly smaller sidewall, so 225/50/16s. I drive less then 1000 miles a month, but I do need the tires to last me at least 18 months. Im willing to spend a maximum of 85 bucks per tire.

Currently I have this ancient Pirelli P6000s in front and still more then half life left Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. (all seasons.) The Pilots are less grippy in the dry then Id like (i want grippier then this!) And the Pirelli P6000s are absolutely horrible.

So far I am undecided If I want to try a kumho 711, or any of performance hankook tires, or maybe even a falken ziex or ventus.... I tried the yokohamas ES100 and I was maybe happy with them for about 3 months overall severely dissapointed with their lifespan/grip ratio.

So what do you guys recommend? I wanted to make an order today.. But Im willing to wait till end of week before ordering..

Also if I order my tires at discountdirect you think theyll charge same rate for installation as if i were to get them at discounttires in first place?

Importance,
This 3 being very close..
1. Grip
2. 80 dollars per tire or less.
3. Life span of 15,000-20,000 miles at least.

Could care less about..
4. Comfort
5. Noise..

Look at the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport

$80 per tire

Go to the rack and read the reviews... VERY POSITIVE

I love mine... Quiet, nice ride, and according to reviews handle VERY well.

2000 Ford Mustang GT

These tires are awesome! I had some Kumho Supra 712s before which were pretty good (they just got to be VERY loud after 10K). The BFGs though are hands-down superior. The dry traction on these tires is amazing. I have to rev the engine up to about 2500 and pop the clutch to get them to break loose at all (and this is for a 260hp car). Cornering is excellent. My braking has even improved. Not to mention the MUCH lower noise level of these tires. Havent put a ton of miles on them yet, but am extremely impressed so far. Will likely get the same tires for my Cuda (it is tractionally challenged) : ) -- Review Submitted 2005-07-22
1992 Lexus SC400

This is an incredibly quiet high-performance tire. It cuts as well as any Michelin, Goodyear, or Yokohama tire that has been on this car and provides the added benefit of being silent and comfortable riding. I would guess that they will outlast the Yoko ES100s that were previously installed. -- Review Submitted 2005-06-28
Tons of other reviews and you will be hard pressed to find one that is not completely positive...

and on an $80 tire to boot!

Good Luck with your purchase.
