I need some help with the selecting a new set of wheels for my GX. I'm a bit confused at this point after calling Tirerack and the gentleman didn't seem to know why the wheel selection for a 2003 was more than the selections for a 2005. His first response was the Tire Pressure Monitoring Sytems was the reason why. I then mentioned to him that I planned on using the OEM tires and wheels for the winter and the new ones for the rest of the year. He then said well you can put a peice of tape over the sensor if you purchase the new wheels. So I then asked him okay , if that's the case then can I choose from the 2003 selection if all I have to do is disable the TPMS? his response was "no"

What I plan on doing is wiring a switch from one of the leads where the TPMS goes into a harness and putting it to ground, then when I put the OEM on switching it back to make the connection.
I have a couple of more questions but I don't want to bombard you guys with to much...........

Is the gentleman from tirerack right or should I just go ahead and order Wheels anyway.
