Question

Has any current Owner of an SC 430 had any luck in trying to secure a duplicate set of new 18" Wheels to mount Severe Winter (Snow / Ice / "Black Ice") Tires on? With the current shortage of OEM Stock Wheels, the local Dealer does not have access to sell an additional set, nor can they suggest an appropriate Winter Driving Tire that has been approved to date by Lexus!

I would like to drive the car from Indy to Florida, but the Selling Dealer has cautioned me about driving these High Performance Tires on anything but Dry Pavement. Attempting to drive the car down through the Mountains in an Ice Storm would appear to be unsafe at any speed on these OEM tires.

I know that on my 2001 BMW 330 Ci with the Sport Package (High Performance 125 MPH Speed Rated Tires), it would slide around on the snow and ice worse than a 3,500 pound hog with siliconed hoofs!

With all of the emphasis Lexus seems to put on making Safety of it's Car Owners the cut above the rest, I'm somewhat suprised and a little bewildered that you can't seem to find a solution for these concerns, either from Lexus Customer Car Care Center with a Customer Representative, or from a Lexus Parts Department Manager or Sales Executive.

Any Help or Experience from any Northern Owners from this past Winter?
