Default 1st Gen GS / 2nd Gen wheels...Need Tire opinion

Like the title states, I have a 93 GS300 and am waiting to mount up some 2nd gen 17" 5 spoke wheels. I did a little searching on Tire Rack and one tire that seemed to be above the rest was the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S, size 235/45-17. Does anyone have experience with this tire?? Can I go a little wider, so the wheels don't look so tucked into the body?? I just want to keep the speedo and tach accurate, if I do go a little wider.

you can do 245 if you want, some members have that.

but it's not going to help the look that much.

What will help the look?? Spacers?? The look is important, but it's not the only reason that I am changing whees and tires. The stock 16's on the car right now are full of nicks, scrapes, etc. They look 12 years old.....because they are. Plus I really don't care for the handling characteristics of the OEM Bridgestones; and they are fairly new.

The 17's will look better on this size car, while the tires will improve handling and wet-weather traction. What size spacers would be ideal??

ummm, i don't really know much about the offset requirement in 1st gen. maybe you can post in the first gen forum and see how much off a spacer you need. the 17s are 17x8 +50
