Tire size for 18" LX470???
I have a 2001 LX470 that came with the stock 16" tires (275/70/16) - I purchased a take-off set of 18" wheels off a 2003 LX470 and the tires on those are 275/60/18 (verified thats the size for ALL 18" wheels on the LX470.
Its time for new tires and when I called the tirerack, the gentlemen there told me I need 285/60/18 tires to be the closest to what the original 16" tire/wheel combo were. He said the "computer" in the car knows that the circumference is wrong and the car isn't operating optimally.
My guess is that the LX470 didn't have different "versions" of the car when they put the optional 18" wheels with 275/60/18 - but thats just my guess....
So the questions is....275 or 285 for the car? And does it really matter to the "computer' of the car? Lots more choices in the 285 size....but want to stick with the stock size since I've heard the car is pretty sensitive to getting a good wheel balance...
THanks in advance,
Will
