I just bought a set of HP Evo's for my 95 SC400 (waiting for them to arrive) and I have a set of HP HPR5's on my 92 SC400. I like them a lot. I've hit some monster pot holes with the HPR5's and not a ding or bend. They are also pretty light considering it's a cast wheel. Considerably lighter than the RSL Akunin's I took off the car. Indypwr had a set of 19's on his SC. PM him and see if he what he thinks. Hope this helps you out.

I bought the EVO's through a CL member and yes I bought a staggered set. 18x8, 18x9 with 38mm offsets. I bought them in Hyper Silver Light finish. I bought the HPR5's off ebay last summer, but they are not staggered. They are 18x8 w/ 38mm offsets in Hyper Silver Light finish. I'd go staggered if I were you.

The Evo's have clearance for Supra and LS400 calipers. The HPR5's do not.

Here's a link to my car with the HPR5's on it.

Here's a pic of the Evo

Are you sure r5's dont clear TT/ls400 brakes? I could've sworn the specs on the evo and r5's are exactly the same.

The specs are the same but the spoke designs are very different. My HPR5's do not even come close to clearing big brakes. The spokes will touch the sides of the calipers and won't allow you to mount the wheel. Someone on here has done the LS400 calipers with the Evo's though. I plan to as well once my Evo's come in.

jeremyp111,

Please post some pics when you get the EVO's mounted. I've been thinking of the exact same wheels for my garnet '92 SC400 and would love to see how they look on yours.

Thanks,

Renaldo

I haven't forgot. I just haven't received them yet. I was told yesterday that they would ship next week. The fronts are in, but the 9" rears are on backorder.
