gs400 17inch tire noise
Hello all. I think all gs400 with 17 inch rims make a lot of tire/road noise. Is there a solution for this maybe like h rated tires. Please help thanks

well if it's performance tires you probably get more noise. how's the alignment, all good? how about the camber? any uneven wear? how's the general wear on the tire?
i think those are stuff i would check for the noise. it's funny, coz' i have 20s on my gs4 with tein cs, and i also have sc430 and is300, both on stock wheels. the is300 gives me the worst tire noise, followed by gs4 and then the sc430. i guess it's just me, but i think the gs4 and the sc430 have about the same noise level. i can't remember the noise level of the stock 17s though

my 99gs4 with 17's is also VERY noisy. I believe it's because of tire wear though. it has michelin pilot sports on it. I'm hoping with new tires comes a quiet ride

For what it's worth...........I just got Yoko H4S in 245/45/17 on my 98 GS400 and find them decently quiet and capable of smoothing out smaller bumps, seams etc. They corner better than the Michelin XGTH4 I had on (235/45/17) I was considering the Toyo TPT as well in 235/50/17 for a taller sidewall/smoother ride. The Yokos I got are almost as tall.
I still want to replace shocks and bushings/mounts/bumbers etc to further improve the ride quality. Larger potholes and road irregularities still sound/feel too intrusive. 70K miles on my car. However,I'm starting to think this generation of GS may never ride as nice as I would like. I plan on getting oem shocks.
