35s all around?
I currently have 245/35-19 and 275/30-19. I was thinking of going fat with 40 up front and 35 in back but has anyone done 245/35-19 and 275/35-19?

right now i have 35 fr and 30 rr and my back looks thinner. that bothers me even more.
and im just afraid of the 40s up front rubbing cuz im am almost certain they will
since my tires wear very differently (im on my 3rd set of fronts but still on the original rears) i might just throw on 35 on the back and then if its not good i can just do 40 front a couple months after

of course you can make the final call to get 35 in the back and stay with 35 in the front, nothing really wrong with that. just that i have never seen that done before

the difference in sidewall is either because my fronts are michelin ps2 and my rear is yokohama avs and/or my rears are the first set ive had on (since 2000) while my fronts are 2 months old.

i am curious about it also. ive been lurking to G35drivers.com and I notice that the recommendations are 245/35 and 275/35 for 19" staggered 8.5/9.5. is it because G35 and GS has different stock wheel size? i dont think so since we are looking at the final overall diameter of the wheel, or am i missing something here?

the second number in the tire spec (profile the way you call it), it's actually an aspect ratio. so it's a % of the width. and that explains why it's "smaller" in the back, coz' you have a wider rear tire
so if you do the math, on 245/35/19, the sidewall is 35% of 245, and on 275/30/19, the sidewall is 30% of 275
if you do the math, you will see that they are very close to each other so you get the same profile physical size front and back

I run 245/40 19s up front in the spring/summer. Lowered 1.5 Eibach Pro Kit. There was very very very very minor rub on the small vents in the tire well *The ones that luuk like inverted vents.
I too a heat gun to them for about 3-5 minutes and pressed them in...smoothed them out.
I have abosoultely no rubbing issues now. even at full lock turns, bumps, etc. The 40 height is has the best of both worlds. Good handling and still a plush ride.
