Default iForged Wheels Finally Installed/Thanks D2Autosport

Finally got tires installed on my iForged that I got from the group buy through Derrick at D2 Autosport. If anyone needs wheels, call Derrick and he'll give you great service.

The wheels are the Classic design in the silver finish. 18x9 in front with Pirelli PZero M&S 245/40/18 and 18x10 in the rear with Pirelli PZero M&S 275/35/18. I was able to get some quick pics out in the heavy rain in LA, what do you guys think? (I know, the car needs to be dropped and the tires need treatment).

On another note, the tire installer (one recommended by TireRack) scratched one of my rear wheels in two places on the edge and lip during the install despite me watching them and warning them to be careful. I'm was so pissed, but they eventually owned up to their negligence and agreed in writing to pay to have it re-polished/repaired. We'll see how this turns out.

Mike

Hmmm...I would have gone with 20s and hi-polished but that's just me.

Still a very nice set of wheels though.

I agree. Brushed or polish would have given the wheel a little more POW!

Still looks great though. Congrats and good luck with the repair.

Thanks for all the compliments. I went with 18s since I believe they are the best compromise between ride comfort, performance and appearance. I would have gone with a 19 fat tire set up but that limited my tire choices (and the tires then would have become much more expensive). Wife would not have let me go with 20s (I'm sure all you married ones can relate) and I wasn't interested in losing that much ride comfort and being constantly worried about bending the wheels.

Since I only saw the available finishes through photos, I couldn't tell any big differences between the brushed and silver to justify the extra costs and the silver looked very good in the photos (and I basically looked through EVERY photo I could find on iForged wheels). Plus the difference in cost pretty much equaled the cost of all 4 new tires. When I went to pick up the wheels in person at iForged, I saw all their finishes in person and the brushed aluminum looks awesome in person (much better than in the photos). I'm now kicking myself a bit for not going with the brushed, but I"m still happy with the silver. And if I don't like the silver after a while, I'll sell them and get the brushed instead!

Now I wish it would stop raining in LA so I can see how the wheels and tires handle under more aggressive driving.

Hey Mike, glad you finally got everything installled. As we previously discussed the 19s probably would have been more pleasing to the eye even with silver finish, but there were certain parameters you had to adhere to (wife-parameters, LOL).

As far as that scratch goes, I would suggest you take the wheels back to the install shop, and have them fix the scratch, or send it to a local finisher. Since the lips are highpolished with no clear, a simple buff can get that out. Also, in the wheel care guide that I send you all, try the metal polish on the scratches, it may help!
