Help: Can new Dunlaps have a "low spot"? LS400 bad news on tires
Hey gang,
Just as the title notes....can this happen? I have just installed 4 new Dunlap SP5000s on our 00 LS400. We took off the oe Dunlap 4000s at 35k with no problems and just the tread getting down. Nothing but headaches and vibrations while driving ever since. This is nuts, first the tires were not balanced properly....I watched this second time and then it still vibrates. What I can notice is that the tires all have a low spot. Maybe its a pronounced high spot but it dips more than it rises. I dont know....
32-35 mph the whole cars vibrates....slight...like your driving on rumble strips or have flat spotted tires.
45-55 mph the same situation but less noticeable. Like your driving on rumble strips.
I jacked the car up at home....spun each tire....and it has a pronounced low spot. 2mm is the estimate. Hop or dip is what I call it.
Then I took the oe spare out....Dunlap SP4000 and mounted it up....voila....absolutely no hop/dip/skip whatsoever. It runs true 100%.
Can this be? I thought we were upgrading going with the SP5000 over the 4000? Now this? I have to fix this...the car drives like a POS.
Not too cheery tonight,
