Alternate Method of Mounting Tire Pressure Sensor
Has anyone ever mounted the entire Tire Pressure Sensor unit inside the tire using a metal band? and then just use separate valve stems to fill the tire? This method has been suggested by a very high end custom shop in Los Angeles as an alternate method because the wheels that I have selected will not accomodate the TPS using the valve stem mount. It seems feasable to me, any problems that anyone can think of?
Thanks

I have the tire pressure sensors banded to the HRE wheels on my G35 coupe & it works fine, but try to make sure that they do a good job in securing the sensors with the metal straps,or else the sensors may fall off inside the wheel after a while & get damaged when the car is running.

Do they make 'aftermarket' ones that install into the hub's of the wheels like many 'factory' units? I'd be a little weary installing a device like that since the technology has not been on the market that long. Just my 2 cents.
