245/45/17 on 17 by 7 IS300 wheels, is it possible?
My winter tires for my SC are 245/45/17's and rather than switch them back and forth every season on the same wheels I was wondering if these would fit on to a spare set of stock 5 spoke 17 by 7 IS300 wheels that a buddy has. Any info would be apprecated.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have put 245's on the 17X7 IS300 wheels. Although I did not have any serious problems, there was some uneven wear on the tires after about 35K miles. Also, I got razzed on CL when I mentioned it.
Do-able? Yes
Safe? Probably not

In addition to being wider then the recommended size for that wheel they are also taller then what should go on an IS. I would not recommend it, but obviously others have found that it works.
