Default How's your camber? =)

I have pretty bad camber as a result of my aggressive set up and wondered if any of you guys had "worser" camber than myself.

I usually will flip my tires once the inside is wornout, so that I don't have to replace the tires that quick. I could probably raise the rear a little bit, but I realized that it wouldn't make a difference. Reason being is that I will end up flipping the tires and it will still wear off the untouched side...

As sad as it is, D2autosport once told me, "You Gotta Pay to Play".

I'm not too sure Mike, I would say 4*?

If I raise it up I will still get uneven tire wear and will still have to flip the tires.

well i think you have a good point, raising it up wont help much, so just save up for the tires!

LOL, I hear ya man. My camber is in the 2-2.5 range in the rear I think. I have to be very honest. The Nitto 555's are VERY resistant to neg camber wear. I mounted these wheels in March or April I think, and I have yet to flip them. I had a flat in the rear and had to take the tire off. It was one of those times when your actually scared to look for fear of seeing the wear! But there was none, just that normal "line" that indicates where the tire will wear (eventually). I have put at least 5k miles on the car since I got these wheels, maybe more than that!

With the 20s installed at my 'normal' slammed height and the OE camber adjusters maxed-out, mine came out to:
Front -1.8 degrees
Rear: -1.9 degrees

This is why I stick to directional tires for this car (not asimmetrical)- I can have the tires dismounted & flip-flopped every 10,000 miles or so, to get more life out of the tires. My original set of 20" Yokohama AVS Sports went 39,000 miles! My friend at Yokohama says this was a fluke!!!

My last set of tires only lasted 13k miles and the tread rating was 280.

Do you guys think the manufacturer rating is accurate if the tire sits with camber that is within spec?

Thanks

The LS came in at -.75 front and -2 rear for the final adjustment. Tire wear has been quite good and FWIW, the tire guy told me that -2 isn't too bad, beyond that is when the accelerated wear comes in. On my other car, the rear camber was running -3 and thensome. I was in for tires about every 12K with a flip in between. Raising that car up an inch in the rear changed the camber 1 degree...a marginal improvement tire wear wise and sucko looks wise.

Funny too, the ceneter sections looked darn good at 12K but the edges...

So do you need to drop more $$$ on beefier coilovers to be able to adjust camber?

let me ask you guys honestly

can a bad alignment really and truly tend to give you steering shimmy and on and off vibrations...since i have done the bilstein pss coils and am now settling down to barely 1 finger gap , my shimmy seems more prevelant and i have brand new dunlaps sp9000 which have been very carefully roadforce balanced but i have no done a wheel alignment as yet (kinda was waiting for springs to settle and also the release of the front control arm bushings which does not look like this year)
