Default Good Winter Tires for an '04 ES330

Hey Guys,

This will be our first winter with an ES330. I'm interested in getting winter tires at Sears or Sam's Club. Anyone know of some good winter tires I can find at either of these locations. We live in a hilly area, so the extra traction will be helpful.

Thanks for your time and input.

When you say "winter tires" I assume you are speaking dedicated snow tires.

Bridgestone Blizzaks and Michelin Alpins are reputable. The Michies will run you a little more money though. Goodyear has a couple of good dedicated snows.

If you are looking for an exceptional all season high performance tire with an aggressive tread, then try the Continental ContiExtreme Contact. I doubt if that is a Sears or Sam's Club item though.

Another all season high performance tread people in New England have raved about is the Toyo Proxes TPT. Again, doubt if it is a Sears or Sam's Club item.

But you could ask.

now stop talking about winter. Baseball isn't even over yet. I was at the mall today and sadly to say, the Christmas decorations were up. Where did summer go?

There are some new michelin tires out. I think there called "X-ICE" look pretty good but haven't heard too much about them.

Hey Guys,

Well we're starting to get snow. Our stock tires were inept. Our driveway is on a slight grade, and there was a dusting . . . sad to say the ES couldn't even make it up.

Ordered Michelin X-Ices, and will have them on by Tuesday. I'll let you guys know how it goes. If anyone has experience with these, please comment. Thanks.

I am confused on why the stock tires were horrible. I think they are Dunlops. I saw like four ESs driving around today in 4" of snow.

The GX has been a beast in the snow, so all is well there.

Happy Safe Driving Guys

Good Luck Nas,

The X-ice have replaced the Michelin Alpin line of winter rubber......no experence personally, but I have heard very good things about them.

I've run Dunlop M3 and Goodyear GW3 snowtires here in northern Ohio, I would recommend them both. Currently running the Goodyear GW's, so far , so good..

I used to cringe driving in the snow and ice on all season tires, now it doesn't bother me at all.

Red face

The Toyo Observe G-02 Plus would have been an excellent choice too.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the input. Well the ES has gone through some snow now with it's new shoes (Michelin X-Ice). It did very well. It's a huge difference between the stupid All-Seasons and the Winter Tires.

It went up the driveway with such ease, and I was traveling for a few hours during snow showers, and it was not a problem. I drove around 50 mph - 55mph, but it handled well.

Thanks Guys.
