Default Widest rims on a GS400 vs SC300

Hey Wheel gurus,

Im going to order some wheels in a couple of days for either my SC300 or my GS400...

I would like to know what is the best combination 19" wheel and offset is needed.. to get maximum amount of Lip possible on an SC300?

I also would like to know the same for a GS400?

I have wheels on both my GS400 and My SC300 right now... i went pretty mild on both...

I have 19 X 8 +41 Zaubers Gettins (super low disc) on the SC300 all the way around, The front I needed to use a 5mm spacer to clear the brakes because its super low disc...
All the wheels have about a 2.25 in lip..

I have 20 X 8.5 +38 Dronell CA-05 (high disc) on the GS400 with about 1.75 to 2 inch lip

For the SC300 It looks like I could go about an 3/4 of an inch more lip in the front and 1.25 inch more lip on the back...

For the GS400 my fronts are perfect, but my rear probably could go another 3/4 to an inch.

Both sets are really mild but I want one of my sets to be super aggressive... Ill prolly go with a super low disc for the rear... and high disc for the front if I get the wheels for the GS.

I know about offsets and everything but I would like to see what other people have done and recommend...

What is the widest any one has done on an SC?

What is the widest any one has done on a GS?

I want to know the closest possible with out rolling fenders....

oh and Ill prolly stretch the tire like VIP JDM Style...

i wonder what the guys in Japan run for the super fat lip set up! lol!

thanks in advanced!

3"+ super low disk (without spacers) for Front and 4"+ super low disk for Rear is achievable

Good luck on selling the old wheels

let me see, did i ever meet you before? hey there man

anyway, for the GS, 4 in the back and 3 in the front is almost the max you can get. same for the SC, i dn't hink you can get much more lip than that

now on the GS you can do 9 in the front and 11 in the back if you want, that's no problem with the right offset. on the SC, i have seen 9.5 in the front and 11.5 (might be 12 i forgot) with fender shaving and right offset.

Default this is what Im thinking

Hey Rominl

Yah we met in Hawaii... You came to my house for the bbq with the pimplux guys! I hope you had a great time in Hawaii...lol!

Well...here's what Im thinking of going with....

19 X 8.5 +38

19 X 10.5 +42

These are the choices:

19x8.5 +38
19x8.5 +25

19x9.5 +19
19x9.5 +44

19x10.5 +42
19x10.5 +32
19x10.5 +19

I know the +19s are completely out of the question...lol! ( I wish!)

I think this is very aggressive (maybe too much) but.... do you think I can fit the 19 X 9.5 +44 in the front, if i put it on the SC300?

Im looking at the ROJA by rays R2-5 in carbon black

roja by rays R2-5

or if I can get better lip maybe the Formula 7s in gunmetal

Roja Formula 7 in gunmental

I think I can get custom off sets because they are 3pc wheels....

what do you think the best aggressive offset for getting max lip as possible that would fit for 19 X 9 F & 19 X 10 R for the GS? and SC?

thanks Rominl and others in advanced!

Looks like you have some big plans The 19X10.5" +42 might be pretty close in the rear of the SC. I think you need a couple of mm more positive offset. I tried the 19X10" +41 SSR rim off my NSX on the rear of my SC4 and even with the conservative 265mm tires it was flush with the outer fender lip. I think with a drop and a mild negetive camber (Still within spec though) it would be better, but I'm actually hoping to get a few mm more positive offset for my set.

On a side note, I noticed you had a lot of extra rims sitting in your garge. Any chance you want to sell me your stock GS400 rims?

So, you are going with Roja wheels huh. I guess it pays to know RJ. Are you getting a good hook up on these?

Chris

oh gosh, i feel like i am back in HI man, where's pete and even chris is here, how cool

anyway, if you want to have a set of rims that will fit both the GS and the SC, the 8.5 +38 and the 9.5 +44 would be your only choice. others you will have to do some modding.

9.5 +44 i am not sure if you can fit that on the front of the SC, it might stick out too much and you might have some bad rubbing (and the front is always hard to mod for rubbing).

for the back, even with 10.5 +42, that's still too aggressive for the GS. actaully, if you are willing to completely shave the rear fender on the GS, i think 10.5 +42 will fit no problem. so it depends on how much work you wanna do.

the fitment for SC and GS are pretty close with each other. i *think* in terms of fender flush, they are very close, and the rear of the SC might be a bit tighter than the GS. but in terms of the overall width, you can go a lot wider on the SC. so if you wanna have something that fits both cars, you should go with the GS fitment, and then don't make it too aggressive to make sure it's happy on the SC. that's why i came to my suggestion

Default thanks guys!

Thanks guys!

Rominl, or anyone... What do you think is the optimum offset for 8.5s and 9.5s to get maximum lip to fit the GS and also the SC without fender modification?

Gonna see if I can get a better offset...

Thanks again!

Dave...i cant seem to log into Pimplux all night (Friday)....well...its actually Saturday now. ....and still no luck....the site must be down.

Anyways...yah....Henry is self-proclaimed wheel guru....so he should know. LOL!!!!

Imo....19x8.5 +35 and 19x9.5 +35.....or 19x10 +40 will be nice and flush.....assuming moderate suspension drop....but ur drop is lower in the rear ...esp with all that a/v gear in the truck....that would be my only concern.....so I would adjust my rear to 19x9.5 +40 ....or 19x10 +45....on stretched tires of course.

hahhaa pete, i wa sjust kidding

yes, for 8.5 and 9.5, i think +35 for both is what you should shoot for. that gives you the most exposure outside already
