30 series on ther rear? 35 series on front?
I have been searching for some rims and have been looking around at what other people have on their cars. I noticed most people have these size tires on their cars...
Front: 19, 245, 8.5 35 series
Rear: 19, 275, 9.5 30 series
I am not sure why you would put the 30 series tires on the back. It makes sense to me to put the 35 series all around or have the 30 series in the front and 35 in the back...This is kind of confusing...
Can someone please explain to me why we want thinner tires on the rear?
Thanks

30 is wider than 35?
is this different rules than an average tire? because i always buy tires for my commuter..and it is always been 195/55 r 15.....and if i buy 195/50 or 195/35 the tire size gets thinner....
so this doesn't make sense to me.... can you explain a little more? thanks

in 19in 245/35 is correct front over dia approx 25.75 in
275/30 is correct for rears over dia approx 25.50
if you did 275/35 overall dia is approx 26.6 way tooooo big would look funny unless you match the front with 245/40
i personally are going to do 285/30 with a overall dia of 25.8 approx so it will match the front and accomodate my 10 in rear better then the 275/30 would

hmmmm i think i get it now....
so the 30 or 35 series doesn't really mean the tire is thinner or thicker...it also depends on the thickness like 245 and 275 sizes...for the diameter...
thanks...im still a lil bit confused but i will just copy the tire size that everyone one is using....
thanks,,,,

Basically the 30 or 35 doesnt have anything to do with width, it tells you the height of the sidewall in relationship to the width which is the first number 275 or 285 etc

I like the 245/35/19 on the front and 275/35/19 on the rears. I like the taller tires on the rear. They fit perfect.
I don't like the flat look of the 275/30/19.
Just my 2 cents
