Default Is Yokohama Avid V4S good for 98 LS400?

I am looking to replace the tires for my 98 LS400. I found the Yokohama Avid V4S at tirerack.com for $75 each. The warranty is good for 60000 miles. Has anyone tried these tires? Are they quiet/noisy? comfortable? Thanks for any information.

The Yoko's you are considering are a very good choice! I tried to get the V4s in my size for my 01 ES but I could only get the H4s. They have the same warranty of 60,000 miles as my Toyo Proxes TPT's which should also be on your 'short list'. From what I have heard from many folks (I have also recommended the V4s to a couple people) they are thrilled with them & would purchase them again. Good Luck! Same goes for the Toyo, as both have a very aggressive tread pattern & are also very quiet & smooth to drive on with fantastic rain & wet weather traction. Snow traction is above average for an all season performance tire with a very long tread life.

Thumbs up Yoko's H4s

My Opinion, I just put the Avid H4s on my ES-300 and love them. I had Dunlop 5000's prior. The dunlops handled a little better but the H4s is a better riding tire and should last 50K mi or so. Only got 25K from the 5000's. A good trade off. Good luck

Default Year & Size

1996 ES-300. I went from 205/65/15 tires to 215/60/15. A little better handeling.

Thumbs up

My 01 ES are 205 60 16's......"V" speed rated so I didn't feel great about going down to the H4S with the "H" speed rating & the V4S is not available in my size or I just might have put them on this past January. But Extremely happy with the Toyo TPT's.
