Cool Michelin PS2 or Goodyear GS-D3

Okay time to replace the Bridgestone SO-3. Have replaced the SO-3 twice and now it is time to try other brands. Not very happy with the noise level. No complaint on the performance though. I have narrow down to two potential replacement tires the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 and the Goodyear GS-D3. Have read the review on Tirerack.com and search CL.

I understand some owners have gone from SO-3 to GS-D3 to PS-2. Would appreciate any inputs before making the final selection.

Thanks,

Chu...

Well, went from the S-03 to the GS-D3 and want to go to the PS2 next. Get the PS2 and let me know what you think. No real complaints on the GS-D3 other than they don't handle as well as the S-03. Heard a lot of rave reviews on the PS2, planning on making the change in another 10K-15K.

Hi redgs4:

I guess I will be going with Michelin PS-2. Goodyear GS-D3 is on backorder at Tirerack for the sizes I wanted. Need to order now as the shipping it going to take 4 to 6 weeks (ocean freight).
It is strange that there are two selection for 245/40R18 for the Michelin PS2. Sent a email to Brandon@TR and awaiting response on this. Price between the two is only $2.

I have about a couple of thousand mile left on my rear but my front tires has about 50% tread left but the noise is almost unbearable.

Let me know what you think. I only wish the PS-2 had a more exciting tread pattern.

I agree. The tread pattern looks too plain. Almost like all season tires. Looks like early November for the shipment to get to me via surface mail. Not in a hurry yet. Still have a couple of thousand miles on the rear. The front still has 50% tread but I can't stand the noise anymore.

Was going to order the Goodyear GS-D3 but their were on backorder. What made me go for the PS2 is the current special discount at Tirerack. A saving of about $100 total for the four tires from the regular price. This is going to be my first experience with Michelin tires. Have been always using Bridgestone.
