If it's surprising to you that all these minor things need replacing then your problem is either:

1. they're seriously screwing with you for no apparent reason or...
2. your car is POORLY maintained.

In either case you can solve the problems easily...man you have a Lexus, don't go around looking for the cheapest parts you can find. Get the CORRECT parts and hunt around for deals in your price range

unless he rolled up to the inspection squeeling and grinding. Then slipped and slid around on bad tires looking for a parking space. Is that what happened dude?

let me tell you this story, one of my brother's auto mechanics used to work as a service writer for a lincoln.
one day his boss told him that he has to writeup more repairs (meaning he has to tell the customers that alot of other things are broken on the car, so they can raise the repair costs). He told the boss that he would not rip customers off, and soon after he got laid off on some bs.

He told me this happens everywhere! So be careful, do not get scammed.

This is why I don't deal with shops, especially HUGE ones that service tons of cars.

thanx for the replies, but when i step on the brake pedal the steering shakes and the red brake light on the board shows.
i took it to lexus dealer first to get an inspection but they are the ones who told me the rotors and the pads need to be changed so i don't think it's #1.

plus, if a/c doesn't work, then what's the problem?
the air comes out but the cold air doesn't come out.

perhaps your ac needs to be recharged. But that might not help if its leaking. but either way u should have a ac place refill it and add the special dye to it so if it does leak out you'll know where.

If, and only if I can get you wagner brake pads and some rotors for cost.

just PM me the year and I can check.

The same goes for everybody.

I can get Toyota/Lexus parts at dealer cost because I have the hook up now....

those are pretty good prices compaed to what the dealer would probably end up charging you

if the mechanic can see threw the spokes of the wheel....he can tell how thick the remaining pad material is......most pads are actually made to squeel like hell when they come close to need to be changed...reason is because they want you to go to get them looked at...average person doesn't think about servicing their brakes.....

the reason the car might shake(most common reason) is because the rotors might need to be resurfaced.....when they grind down the contact surface to make it smooth again....this is cheaper then replacing the rotors....

but they might be able to tell you that the rotor cannot be resurfaced...and then you gotta buy new ones and pay to install them

if you do buy rotors....i would recommend to stay with blank rotors(as pictured in the link)...cause alot of aftermarket slotted/drilled rotors are low quality....and most solid OEM replacement rotors are OEM quality
