17" wheel help
What do you guys think about these wheels for replacing a set of factory 16s on a black 98GS400? Is the offset correct and most importantly will they look good?! A set of four is only $529. I've been looking for factory wheels, but ran across these... Brand is MSR and style is 183.
17x8.5 45mm offset 5x114.3
Thanks for your help,
Brian

Those rims are available in silver or chrome, offset is close to stock They weigh about 25# (kinda heavy)
MSR are made by American Eagle (Motor Sport Racing) The price is not bad. If you are looking for a OEM 16" wheel, have you considered the one included with the Platinum trim package? I think those can be found with a bit of looking

My wife is really digging the idea of 17s over the 16s, so I found these as an option to the factory 17s. Not a lot of folks are selling their factory 17s, and they go pretty fast when they are available. Since this is her car, they seem like an affordable option to the factory 17s, but I guess we are both wondering how good they will look. We would be getting them in the silver finish...

Pretty similar to the OZ Superlegerra and the price is attractive as long as the quality is there.
Don't forget, if you step up to a 17", you are obligated to buy new tires at the same time (an additional $600 or so). If you get different 16" rims you can continue to ride on your existing tires until they reach the end of their useful life. Here is a pic of the OZ's for comparison
Well, I guess I haven't figured out how to post a pic yet.
